Life Options provides education about kidney disease for patients and professionals. Unfortunately, Life Options does not have the funds to help people pay for treating kidney disease. I do not know what organizations in India provide financial help to patients. In the United States, there are social workers that work with hospitals and dialysis clinics to help people with kidney disease and kidney failure find financial help. Perhaps your friend's kidney doctor can direct him to a social worker or other individual who knows sources of help in your community, region, or country. In the United States, affiliates (local offices) of the National Kidney Foundation provide limited financial help to people with kidney disease. I understand that there may be a National Kidney Foundation of India but I cannot find a website for it. You might also find information or an organization that can help you on this India Yahoo page that has several links:
http://in.dir.yahoo.com/Health/Disea...dney_Diseases/. Good luck!

As Beth said above, the Medical Education Institute which runs this site offers information--not money. Perhaps someone who reads this board will want to help. But I suspect that your best bet will be to look at the website that Beth listed. The National Kidney Foundation of India website is listed as this, though I was not able to get to the site: http://www.nkfi.in/. They may have some thoughts for you as well.
