Default Uretor Fibrosis

One of my relative is suffering from uretor fibrosis. fixed stent, but urine through dirctly inserted tube to Right kidney. No natural discharge thru any uretors. HB count is only 5.9 (Now giving 2 pints of blood), Blood urea is 77, Creatine 2.6. Primary observation says 35-40% functioning of Kidney (average of both). May be in 3-4 dyas 15-20 ml of urine (think and brown colored) naturally. Confirmed NO TB is affected kidney. What else could be the reason ?. Fine needle biopsy is pending.

The condition you refer to is called ureteral fibrosis. It can sometimes be refered to as ureteral stricture or retroperitoneal fibrosis. We are not doctors, but I was able to find some resources to help you know more about this condition and hopefully come up with questions to ask the doctor about the condition, treatment, and what the future might bring:

* An article on eMedicine by Dr. Christopher Kane http://www.emedicine.com/med/topic2871.htm

* An article on retroperitoneal fibrosis from the Cleveland Clinic Journal of Medicine on preserving kidney function
http://www.ccjm.org/pdffiles/MONEV202.PDF

* An article on retroperitoneal fibrosis from MedlinePlus, a National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health website
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/e...cle/000463.htm

Good luck!
