How much have you been drinking? Tonsillitis makes your throat hurt enough that you may have had a lot less fluid intake than you usually would. In general, if you drink a lot of fluid, you will make more urine. When you drink less, your body will conserve fluid and you'll make less urine. So, a good first step might be to drink lots of fluids and see if that helps.

Because of your history, it's a good idea to ease your mind by seeing your doctor. Ask for a urinalysis. You could also ask about getting a blood test done for creatinine (this is part of a regular chemistry panel)--with that result, it is possible to calculate the rate at which your kidneys are filtering (called the glomerular filtration rate, or GFR). This will tell you how your kidneys are doing, and would be a useful baseline since you had some kidney damage as a child.
