My post is the one below, about the atrophic kidney I have 1 more question...
I have had 3 children before I found out about my kidney. I might be expecting my 4th and I was wondering if having another baby is a bad idea with my issues? I carried 3 others with no problems before I knew anything was wrong but would I be pushing it with another? |

Hi Unregistered,
This is definitely a question to ask your doctor--we're not doctors. Pregnancy does put some additional stress on the kidneys, but people who have had a kidney transplant (so they have one kidney that functions probably not as well as yours does) have successfully had children. I would say that there is some degree of risk, but how much of one and whether you are willing to take it is between you and your husband and your doctor.
