Question What about stem cells?

I know that there are two different treatments that are really known to help deal with kidney dissease, which are: dialysis, and transplant. Now, I've heard a lot about stem cell research and how this has helped many people in the past. I don't know if it's true or not... but if it is... where could I obtain more information about kidney stem cell research???

Thanks...

Hi Tabata,

Dialysis and transplant are treatments for kidney failure. Depending on the cause of the disease, there may well be other treatments to help slow progression, including certain blood pressure pills, tight control of blood sugar for people with diabetes, Pentoxifylline, chemotherapy or steroid drugs, etc.

As far as stem cell research, your best bet is to put "Kidney Stem Cell Research" into Google. When I did that, I found:
-- http://www.kidneyresearchuk.org/content/view/431/582

And those were all just on the first page!
