Hernias and exercise on PD

Hi I've looked at some of the other messages and will check out the printed material, but thought I'd post this question in case anyone has had any luck . I have been back and forth on PD and hemo. I have just had surgery on my second hernia in 2 years. I would like some exercises to help strengthen my abdominal muscles and or anything else that might help me from getting more hernias.
I also have an autoimmune disease so when they fix the hernias they cannot put in mesh.
Thanks for any info that anyone might have.

An exercise that I do seems to help with the my hernia. After I have drained and before I infuse, I suck in my tummy and then use my hands, flat palm, to pat myself all around the tummy for 200 pats each day. My stomach muscles seem to have more tone and strength. I don't intend to have surgery.

I am 49. I recently completed my 25th triathlon. The following day, I began to train for a marathon. Everything was fine until, after running 8 1/2 miles, I decided to put an air conditioner away for the year. I picked it up and Urggh! I felt a strain/tear, from abdomen to groin. I have taken one week off. The tear at the abdomen seems much better. The groin has sensitivity. Can I safely run a marathon in 2 days like this. By the way I am wearing support pants. Thank you for your comments.

I'm sorry I didn't read your question until today. I would encourage anyone with a hernia to speak with a doctor before doing any kind of strenuous exercise. Here is a list of links for information on hernias including causes and treatment.
