You don't say if you have taken diuretics under a physician's advice. If so, you should make an appointment with your doctor and explain your symptoms, when they occur (when exercising, when at rest, day, night, etc.), how often symptoms occur, and how severe the symptoms are including how limiting the symptoms are to your normal activities. Ask your doctor what conditions might be causing fluid to build up making it difficult for you to breathe.

If you've been taking over the counter diuretics on your own, make an appointment as soon as possible with a physician to get a physical. Several conditions can cause shortness of breath including conditions of the heart, lungs, and kidneys.
