Hi Todd,
Since no one yet has responded to your question, I thought it might help you to know that restless legs syndrome is fairly common among people with kidney disease. People with other diseases like diabetes also get RLS. There are things that can help. Some places where you may find helpful information include:
1) A fact sheet on RLS on the Life Options web site at www.lifeoptions.org/pdfs/teachtools/legsfs.pdf;
2) The Restless Legs Syndrome Association at www.rls.org;
3) RenalWEB has devoted a page to resources for living a full and comfortable life that has links to RLS resources at www.renalweb.com/topics/full/fulllife.htm.

I hope that you find the information that you need in one of these locations.

I was on dialysis 8 years ago when I started experiencing RLS (Restless Leg Syndrome). I was transplanted and it stopped for the most part, but now I'm in renal failure again and on Hemodialysis and the RLS is back big time. I found one thing that can really stop the agony, and that is Darvocet, a painkiller. You must speak to your doctor because this is a narcotic, but it works wonders for me. I just started back on Hemo and was literally squirming in my chair, and now that I started with Darvocet again I'm just fine. Good luck!
