| Beth Witten | Posted At 23:22:53 04/28/2003 National Kidney Foundation guidelines for hemodialysis recommend accesses in this order: 1) fistula, 2) graft, 3) catheter. The reasons for this order is that fistulas are the least likely to become infected plus they provide the highest adequacy of dialysis. Catheters are the most prone to infections and provide lower dialysis adequacy. |
