For Meeting Planners and Editors
Life Options can help put meeting planners in touch with renal rehabilitation experts, both patients and professionals, to speak at meetings from the local to the national level. Life Options also links authors with editors of publications interested in rehabilitation topics. These experts have written articles for many publications, including American Journal of Kidney Diseases and For Patients Only.
Dori Schatell, MS
Dori brings a life-long interest in medicine and more than 14 years as a senior medical writer and research and program manager to her role. She directs the Life Options Rehabilitation Program; has staffed the Anemia Work Group of the NKF-DOQI; and has authored/edited more than 200 published articles, books, booklets, brochures, and other materials.
She has a BA in Psychology and History of Medicine, and an MS in Child and Family Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Beth Witten, MSW, ACSW, LSCSW
A renal social worker since 1978, Beth has worked with the MEI team since 1993 as a contributing writer, researcher, technical consultant, and community outreach expert. She served on the work group that developed the NKF-DOQI Clinical Practice Guidelines for chronic kidney disease. She has expertise in employment issues for people with chronic diseases.
Beth holds an MSW from the University of Kansas.
